Capabilities - Straightening

Therm-Tech of Waukesha can straighten several varieties of shapes and steels. We currently straighten carburizing, hardening, tool steels and castings. The straightening area will work to bring shafts or other parts into the proper tolerance for straightness by placing a stress higher than its yield strength to remove any warp and distortion.  As a possibility, the initial choice of steel relevant to the heat treatment required can determine whether distortion will play a part in the final outcome of the produced product.  The severity of machining and the defects that hide, within the steel, can be factors to why post-straightening may be necessary. Our largest press has a 200 ton limit. Please call for further information.
