Capabilities - Hardening of Steel

Therm-Tech of Waukesha will have hardened or quenched over ten million pounds of steel and iron through its faciltlity in 2005.  Our customer base is very diverse and we see that in the wide scope of product we harden.  Pieces we will process range from small screw machine product weighing tenths of a pound a piece up to a 5,000 pound piece, for the mining and crane industry.

We offer several different types of furnaces for hardening.  Therm-Tech offers both Open Fire and Endothermic – atmosphere controlled processing. Here is our list of our various Quenching capabilities:

• Oil Hardening – up to 70”W x 44”H x 104”L – 7,000 lbs. max piece size.
• Polymer Hardening – up to 60”W x 40”H x 90”L – 6,000 lbs. max piece size.
• Water Hardening – up to 60”W x 40”H x 64”L – 4,000 lbs. max piece size. Look for Therm-Tech to increase our capacity for water quenching in 2006.
• Salt Hardening/Marquenching – up to 50”W x 40”H x 50”L max piece size
