Water Quenching Steel

It is optimum for forgings to be quenched properly to avoid undesirable microstructural components which can lead to low hardnesses, mechanical properties, and failures during service.

Forgings made from plain carbon steels such as 1030, 1040, 1045, and low alloy steels like 1530 require severe water quenching to achieve the proper quench rates.

ThermTech's water quenching capabilities achieve both the hardness and mechanical requirements needed on low alloy steel forgings.

Our water quenching system has several cooling towers on it to insure the quench media is as cool as possible for repetive results in our batch quenching operations.
